Why You Should Practice Writing Too

Writing is not just for writers, bloggers, or journalists. If you haven't yet realized, good writing skills should be everyone's concern, kahit pa sabihin mong hindi iyon ang everyday job mo, the fact remains: you'll never escape it.

If you're a student, may times na kapag wala nang maituro si teacher at may 30 minutes pang time sa inyong klase, bigla-bigla siyang magpapa-essay (may sa-demonyo eh no?). When you're applying for work, madalas tini-test ng company ang iyong written skills and english proficiency sa pagpapasagot sa iyo ng mga questions na ise-send nila via email. When you want to brag on social media and needed a great caption, you are already writing, and of course, you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself by posting shitty writing. One way to make yourself stand out is by knowing how to write eloquently.

Still not convinced?

Writing is one way of showing who you are. If you're dreaming on becoming a professional, accept the fact that you'll not only deal with oral communication; mararanasan mo ring gumawa ng memo, mag-email sa mga bosses mo, and you wouldn't want something to ruin your dreams of promotions nang dahil lang hindi mo alam ang subject-verb agreement? At ang consistent verb tenses?

Good writing skills make you express your opinions clearly. (the latter is the correct one).

We are all opinionated people. Every issue regarding politics, injustices, wrongdoings, I know we have our own stand. And in what manner mo kaya pwedeng ipahayag ang mga saloobing iyon? Via voice oo, pwede. But do you think sapat na ang pagsasatinig lamang ng mga salita para makagawa ng impact sa estado natin? Of course, hindi. The other way of sharing your thoughts is through writing. Ikanga nila, the pen is mightier than the sword. Novels, blogs, articles, and journals.

This is the reason why I created this blog. Here, you could see me practicing every day to gather my thoughts and be creative. I am an aspiring writer, and there's no other way I could achieve my dream of being published kundi ang magsulat nang magsulat sa pang-araw araw.

This is my advocacy. Writing. And I want you to join me in improving the versions of ourselves. Trust me, investing on this skill is not a waste of time. In fact, you'll be helping yourself a lot more than you think.
