Writing Tips and Advice

Believe it or not, I am a writer—hindi pa nga lang published. I know a lot about characterizations, plot conceptualizations, outlining, writing a climactic ending, and so much more. This blog will show my journey on being published, hopefully. Promise ko iyon sa sarili ko: ang makapag-publish ng sarili kong libro.

I guess I am a Jack-of-All-Trades. Though writing is my hobby, programming is the career I am currently pursuing. Wala eh, IT ang course ko. So anything that I find amusing with regards on programming, I'll list it and post it here.

Life Lessons

I am one of those who wanted to change this world for the better. I have so many opinions up my sleeve that I could use to reshape everything. With this blog, I hope I can spread awareness on certain topics, help people who are in need of a friend, give light to those who are lost. All these by letting my voice be heard.

Dear Unemployed, Calm the F*ck Down

I mostly refer to myself here. Pero kung unemployed ka rin, aba'y welcome to the club! Tayo ang bumubuo ng kasalukuyang 5.1% unemployment rate ng Pinas! Charot. I know, I know, it's nothing to be proud of. But hey, let me tell you this: It's not the end of the world! Kanina lang, sinimulan ko nang kumilos para sa next career ko. Pumunta ako ng Alabang upang i-scout ang mga kumpanyang target kong applyan. Balak ko kasing mag-change career na. I plan on pursuing the appropriate job for the course I graduated in. Magja-java programmer na ako. ( Yay!) Almost two months na rin akong tambay. I allotted one month to finish writing the first draft of my novel ( writing, by the way, is my real passion ), two weeks on self-editing it, and another two weeks refreshing my programming skills. Bug Fixing Is Actually Fun!

You heard me right. And I am not fooling around, there’s no one behind my back forcing these words out my mouth. Bug fixing is actually fun. In my work I prefer tasks needing bug fixes rather than creating a new feature in our project. New features demand too much time analyzing what needs to be done, what alterations to be performed on the database, unit tests to write, and ensuring the design meets the company’s standards. Bug fixing on the other hand is like a game of cat and mice. And you get to play the role of the cat, which is kinda exciting. At first it’s scary, like searching for a needle in a haystack of codes, but done right, you’ll be able to get the hang of it. First of course, you need to replicate the scenario reported, need to see the error yourself. Then read the error message. What exception was thrown? Where? Which file?
